In these circumstances the\u00a0goal is not only to reduce the risk of infection to staff, but also to reduce the risk of\u00a0cross infection among staff and patients. Therefore, patients must be segregated\u00a0according to their risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Case screening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All patient should fill in health declaration form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ALL request forms for CT thorax should be screened by the Clinical Director.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any queries on booking SHOULD be diversified\u00a0to the centre I\/C or the Clinical\u00a0Director to decide the proper patient risk group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Designation of patient risk<\/strong><br>Although our centres have a variable case mix in designated non-hospital based\u00a0buildings, all staff performing imaging examinations on all patients should take the\u00a0SUITABLE personal infection control measures irrespective of the patient\u2019s risk group.\u00a0This means wearing mask (either surgical mask \/ N-95 mask), frequent handwashing,\u00a0proper working clothes (including gowns) and social distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 2 categories of patients attending our imaging centers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Intermediate: Patients without suspected COVID-19<br>High:\u00a0 Patients with suspected COVID-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The highest infection control measures must be taken for the patients in the high risk\u00a0group while lower precautions can be taken for the intermediate group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Segregation of patients<\/strong><br>There are two ways patient can be segregated, time and location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Time<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our centers will be constrained by the number of equipment and layout. The suitable\u00a0way to segregate some patients will be by time.\u00a0\u00a0A\u00a0dedicated timeslot should be allocated for high risk patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Location<\/strong><br>Try to site the patients and relatives in different zones to achieve social distancing.<br>Waiting areas and patient access will have to be segregated also.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>General infection control guidelines for staff<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensure you are acquainted with general infection control guidelines and\u00a0protocols. Keep yourself updated!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily temperature check and records.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take note of each patients risk category.
